FREDERICKTOWN FIRE DEPARTMENT 6TH BIENNIAL CHILI COOK-OFF
Date: Saturday October 25th 2014 Time: 8:30 AM Place: East Main Street in downtown Fredericktown The Fredericktown Fire Department and their families will be putting on a chili cook-off. Downtown Fredericktown will become a haven for chili lovers of all ages. Teams will compete for prizes and to have the honor of the best chili in the area. The proceeds will go to the Fredericktown Fire Department for the purchase of new training equipment, and a separate fundraiser for our very own Firefighter Kyle Polete to offset medical costs. This year they are turning on the burners and asking you to join them by making this event red hot. A jalapeno eating contest, music, games, and fire safety taught by elmo will fill the day. Spectator Information
Sampling and bowls will be available at 11:30 AM
Adult wrist band - $5.00 Child wrist band - $3.00
Wrist band includes sampling of all chili, one ticket for a full bowl of chili of your choice, and one vote for people's choice award.
Extra bowl of chili - $2.00
Participant Information
Cook-off team - $25.00 (maximum of four people)
Only the first twenty five teams will be accepted. There is no cost for the jalapeno eating contest.

Chili Rules
A minimum of five gallons of chili is recommended
Chili must be cooked on site the day of the cook-off
Be prepared in a sanitary manner and meet health codes
Cooking conditions are subject to inspection
Be prepared in the open (no closed tents)
There are no restrictions on ingredients for your chili. Only one recipe will be judged per team.
Best Site Rules
You must be respectful to others, no offensive displays, excessive noise or music
Interfering with other contestants is prohibited
General Rules
The contestants will be responsible for furnishing all cooking means - electric will be provided but teams are encouraged to use propane due to the limited supply of electric.
FFD will furnish spoons, bowls, and cups for the public and the judging
The contestants will need to furnish tables, chairs, extension cords, or other supplies. All equipment is contestants responsibility
Prizes will be awarded in the following categories:
First Place - $150.00 Second Place - $100.00 Third Place - $50.00 People's Choice - $50.00 Best Site - $50.00
Contestants must pre-register in order to enter contest.
Contestants need to bring shelter (tent, etc). Allotted space is 10X10
Contestants are encouraged to name their chili and decorate their cooking are to best reflect it.
A $25.00 entry fee is required.
The chili cook-off is not sanctioned. FFD or the City of Fredericktown will not be responsible for damages, injuries, etc. resulting from participation.
Only the first 25 applicants are allowed. Maximum of 4 people to a team allowed.
Alcohol consumption is prohibited
